WARNTracker looked at some of the detailed California WARN records filed by large tech companies in late 2022 and early 2023, and combined those with other data sources (such as compensation data from levels.fyi). Keep in mind that, because this analysis required very manual data processing, we only handled a subset of WARN records, and focused primarily on engineering roles for compensation analysis.
This analysis reflects California WARN notices for Alphabet/Google, Meta/Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, and Salesforce. Note that this is not an exhaustive list of all WARN notices filed by these companies, and that this analysis only reflects employees based in California who were affected.
Check out these breakdowns and insights from the analysis!
